Half Way There - well to the beginning anyway

Well, I've finally made it to Paris. More than a dozen hours to Dubai, a few hours in the airport there, another seven hours to Paris. Much more than a day has passed and I feel like I am no closer to the start.

The flights were uneventful. Even though my fitness band says that I slept for 6 1/2 hours, it certainly doesn't feel like it. As always, I have eaten too much, slept too little, watched a few movies, played with my ipad and tried to while away the many hours.

I now have a several hour wait in the airport here and I can't even book in my luggage for another two hours. My feet are enormous after the flights. I assume that they will go down overnight.

I still have to work out how I am getting to my room tonight. I think it will have to be a taxi. Of course, all the really matters is that last comfortable bed and that last night of privacy before the walking begins.

The brightest note of the trip so far: my backpack weighed 7.6 kgs... And I thought that I had overpacked.

Hasta el luego.
