A quick excursion

I wanted to visit the twelfth century church of Santa Maria in eunate, but the extra three kms.... Fortunately, the hostel offered a visit.

Unusual in its octagonal shape and mysterious in its origins

So beautifully prayerful inside

  1. Great reading and photos! We feel like we are travelling with you minus the sore feet etc. you may need to invest in some sock covers lest more ash finds itself heading your way! Hope there is not to many more of those dreaded downhills....keeping you in our prayers. Stay safe and in one piece.

    1. I am beginning to appreciate why this Camino continues to be so popular. With the many magnificent "Stations" along the way, I see that they offer both refreshment and nourisment for body and soul. Who would have thought the modern pilgrim could boast a "Station" offeing a double espresso and beer! One of your Parish Pilgrims mentioned Angels. My thought was seeing you sitting at the edge of the river with some Angels holding your weary feet and others pouring the refreshing water over them - with St Raphael standing on the river bank, staff in hand waiting patiently for you to resume your journey. On a serious note, at our Vinnines meeting tonight we will pray a Hail Mary for blessings on your next day's journey.
